V CCPT - Desenhos / Drawings

Para além das fotos que partilhei recentemente, deixo agora aqui umas fotos de desenhos que fiz durante o CCPT, no Artists' Alley. Obrigado, novamente, aos visitantes que vieram até à minha mesa e que apreciaram os meus trabalhos. Foi fantástico privar convosco nesta minha primeira presença na Comic Con Portugal.

Aside from the photos that I have shared recently, I'm also posting here photos of some of the drawings I did at CCPT, in the Artists' Alley. Thanks, again, to the visitors that came by my table and that showed appreciation to my artworks. It was great to chat with you in this first attendance at Comic Con Portugal.

V CCPT - Artists' Alley

A Comic Con Portugal marcou a sua 5ª edição mudando-se para os arredores de Lisboa, indo decorrer nos próximos anos no Passeio Marítimo de Algés, em parceria com o município de Oeiras.

Embora já tenha sido anteriormente convidada a participar no Artists' Alley, estreei-me este ano em contacto com os visitantes, o que foi entusiasmante e cansativo ao mesmo tempo. Chegando umas horas antes da abertura do recinto, para preparar a mesa e exposição de trabalhos, durante os dias do evento fiquei todo o expediente no Artists' Alley a interagir com os visitantes, tendo tido oportunidade de desenhar Cosplayers, fazer desenhos de convenção e oferecer autógrafos, para além de conhecer vários colegas do sector.

Profissionalmente, divulguei o iminente lançamento do baralho Gatos Baralhados e comercializei os livros Contos de Sabedoria e Aurora Boreal e O Princípio Infinito. Mas o principal objectivo foi testar a reacção do público aos meus trabalhos gráficos, usualmente mais plásticos e expressivos do que é habitual ver numa arte comercial como a banda desenhada; fui confrontada com um óptimo feedback, o que me irá permitir orientar as próximas obras em BD para grafismos mais arrojados.

Obrigada a todos os que visitaram o Artists' Alley e tiveram a amabilidade de parar na minha mesa para apreciar os trabalhos e conversar um pouco. Espero ver-vos em breve!

Comic Con Portugal marked its 5th edition moving to the outskirts of Lisbon, going to take place in the next few years on the Passeio Marítimo de Algés, in partnership with Oeiras municipality.

Although I was previously invited to participate in the Artists' Alley, this year was my effective debut at the event, in direct contact with visitors, which was both exciting and exaustive. Arriving a few hours before the venue opened, to prepare the table and display of works, throughout the days of the event I spent all the time at Artists' Alley interacting with visitors, having had the opportunity to draw Cosplayers, do convention drawings and offer autographs, in addition to meeting several colleagues in the industry.

Professionally, I announced the impending release of the deck Gatos Baralhados and commercialized the books Tales of Wisdom and Aurora Boreal and The Infinite Principle. But my main objective there was to test the publics' reaction to my graphic works, usually more arty and expressive than is usual in a commercial art such as comic books; I was confronted with great feedback, which will allow me to guide the next works in comics in more daring expressions.
Thanks to all who visited the Artists' Alley and were kind enough to stop at my table to enjoy the works and to talk for a bit. I hope to see you soon!

Cartas com Gatos | Cards with Cats

Paralelamente às actividades como formadora, concluí na semana passada um projecto de ilustração que aos poucos tenho vindo a produzir, com base em felinos, para ilustrar um baralho de cartas autoral. Produzido para a Apenas Livros, este Gatos Baralhados será inserido na sua colecção Autor.
Quem me acompanha nas redes sociais tem seguido as partilhas frequentes, com fotos de detalhes dos desenhos, que tenho produzido em cartolina de aguarela em formato A4*. Sendo esta a primeira ocasião que refiro o projecto no blog, decidi partilhar um apanhado de algumas das minhas fotos preferidas, de desenhos e colorações.
O baralho será lançado em 22/9 (Sáb.), no Barreiro IlustraBD, durante o dia do Encontro com Autores, mas poderá ser adquirido directamente por mim e pela editora, ou na Amazon.

Parallel to my activities as an arts teacher, last week I concluded an illustration project that I have been gradually producing, based on felines, to illustrate a deck of cards. Produced for Apenas Livros, this Shuffled Cats item will be inserted in their Authors Collection.

Those who accompany me on social networks must have followed the frequent shares, with cropped pictures of the drawings, which I have made in 8.3x11.7 inches watercolor paper. This being the first occasion I mention the project on the blog, I decided to share a selection of some of my favorite snapshots, showing either drawings or colorings.

The card deck will be released on 22/9 (Sat.), at Barreiro IlustraBD, during the Meeting with Authors day, but it can also be purchased directly through me and the publisher, or in Amazon.
