Heróis Portugueses/Portuguese Heroes: Wanya & João

No ano passado, o colectivo Tágide quis agitar o marasmo cultural que a pandemia trouxe e criou a iniciativa Heróis Portugueses. Através deste projecto, os autores ligados ao grupo celebram algumas das principais personagens da banda desenhada portuguesa e seus criadores, lembrando-as e interpretando-as graficamente. Entre desenhos soltos e imagens mais detalhadas, o Tágide encontra-se na recta final para os 100 heróis, dando por concluída esta 1ª ronda da iniciativa. Mais heróis serão lembrados no final do ano, quando ganharmos fôlego para outra ronda... Os desenhos podem ser acompanhados na etiqueta Heróis Portugueses no blog do Tágide.

A minha participação vai cingir-se a 4 personagens. A primeira foi Wanya, a heroína de Escala em Orongo, criada em 1972 por Augusto Mota e Nelson Dias, e mais recentemente, a coincidir com o aniversário do nascimento do mestre Artur Correia, desenhei D.João, da série D.João e Cebolinha, criada em 1956.

Last year, the Tágide collective wanted to stir up the cultural slump the pandemic brought and created the Portuguese Heroes initiative. Through this project, the authors linked to the group wanted to celebrate some of Portugal's main comics characters and their creators, remembering and interpreting them graphically. From loose sketches and more detailed images, Tágide is in the final stretch to reach 100 heroes, which concludes this 1st round of the initiative. More heroes will be homaged by the end of the year, once we've catched our breath for another round... The drawings can be followed on the Portuguese Heroes tag on the Tágide blog.

My participation will be limited to 4 characters. The first was Wanya, the hero of the graphic novel Escala em Orongo/Layover in Orongo, created in 1972 by Augusto Mota and Nelson Dias, and, more recently, coinciding with the birth celebration of master Artur Correia, I also drew D. João, from the D. João and Cebolinha series, created in 1956.
