Com
o lançamento da antologia BD Montijo: Iniciação à Arte Sequencial– Antologia I e exposição dos trabalhos alusivas aos respectivos
cursos que coordenei a convite do município de Montijo, entre 2018 e
2019, patente no Museu Municipal Casa Mora, posso por fim partilhar a
ilustração que realizei para a capa da compilação das BDs.
Inspirada
pelas ninfas do Tejo, as Tágides, que serviram de mascote à
promoção dos cursos, em trabalhos feitos pela Ana Mar e Daniel Maia, e que mais tarde deu também nome ao colectivo informal que
nasceu das formações, ilustrei esta sereia com técnica mista sob
cartolina azul. O desenho foi modelado com lápis de cor e ceras, e
também finalizado com marcado preto, para acentuar contornos. É uma
das ilustrações que mais me orgulho de ter criado.
With
the release of anthology BD Montijo: Initiation to Sequential Art –Anthology I and the exhibition of the comics works from the
respective courses that I coordinated at the invitation of Montijo’s
municipality, between 2018 and 2019, currently on display at
Municipal Museum Casa Mora, I can finally share the illustration I
drew for the cover of the comics compilation.
Inspired
by the Tagus nymphs, the Tágides, which served as a mascot for the
courses’ promotion, in drawings made by Ana Mar and Daniel Maia,
and which later also gave name to the informal collective born from
the formations, I illustrated this mermaid with mixed media over blue
cardstock. The drawing was modeled with color pencils and wax
crayons, and finished with black markers, to accentuate contours.
It’s one of the illustrations I am most proud of.
