Concluí
recentemente a minha participação na iniciativa Heróis Portugueses, coordenada pelo colectivo de banda desenhada Tágide. O
objectivo do projecto foi celebrar 100 das principais personagens da
BD portuguesa e homenagear os seus autores, criando interpretações
pelos autores do colectivo, inicialmente divulgadas online e, por
fim, compiladas no blogue TágideBD.
Com
isto, esperámos demonstrar o quão fértil é a criatividade da
banda desenhada nacional, tanto clássica como moderna, e ajudar a
preservar uma memória viva destes heróis e autores para as gerações
futuras.
As
minhas duas últimas ilustrações foram de Zé
Povinho,
de Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, tido como o primeiro personagem de BD
português (de proto-BD, mais concretamente), criado em 1875 para a
revista A Lanterna Mágica #5. Depois, encerrei a iniciativa com O
Corvo,
de Luís Louro, certamente um dos mais populares heróis da nossa BD,
estreado em 1994. Neste, optei por o desenhar com óbvias parecenças
ao seu autor...

projecto está disponível no Outras Bandas #5, em e-book
e fanzine de papel com edição limitada e sem fins lucrativos.
I
recently wrapped-up my participation in the Portuguese Heroes
initiative, coordinated by the Tágide comics collectivety. The
project's objective was to celebrate 100 of the Portuguese comics'
main characters and to homage their authors, by having the
collectivety's authors draw interpretations, which were initially
published online and, finally, compiled in TágideBD blog.
With
this, we hope to demonstrate how fertile the creativity of national
comics are, both classic and modern, and to help preserve a living
memory of these heroes and authors for future generations.

last two illustrations were of Zé
Povinho/Joe
Public by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, considered the first Portuguese
comics character (proto-comics, more specifically), created in 1875
for the magazine A
Lanterna Mágica
#5. Lastly, I concluded the initiative with O
Corvo/The
Crow, by Luís Louro, certainly one of the most popular heroes of our
comics, premiered in 1994. In this one, I chose to draw it with
obvious similarities to its author...
The
project is available in Outras Bandas #5, in e-book and in paper fanzine, but with limited edition and not
for profit.
