On April 23rd I went to Alpiarça's Municipal Library (Santarém) to celebrate its 34th anniversary, which coincides with the celebrations of the 28th World Book and Copyright Day. The cultural agenda of the event revolved around two discution panels: the presentation of graphic novel CoBrA: Operação Goa, by Daniel Maia (written by Marco Calhorda), which was released precisely 1 year ago and in which I contributed the dust-jacket colors, and the presentation of the 1st Alpiarça Fanzines Festival, taking place in October, that will be coordinated by Assc. Tentáculo, in partnership with the municipality, in which I will partake with a comics workshop.
It was an afternoon well spent, in the company of local visitors and young authors from the TribArte collective, which the municipality supports in various cultural expressions, and who will be amongst my students in the workshop.
No passado dia 23 de Abril estive na Biblioteca Municipal de Alpiarça
(Santarém), para celebrar o seu 34º aniversário, que coincide com
as comemorações do 28º Dia Mundial do Livro e do Direito de Autor.
A agenda cultural do evento girou à volta de duas conversas: a
apresentação do álbum CoBrA: Operação Goa, de Daniel Maia (com
arg. de Marco Calhorda), que foi lançado há precisamente 1 ano e em
que contribuí com as cores da sobrecapa, e a apresentação do 1º
Festival de Fanzines de Alpiarça, a decorrer em Outubro, que será
coordenado pela Assc. Tentáculo, em parceria com o município, e que
integra uma oficina de banda desenhada que irei realizar.
Foi
uma tarde bem passada, na companhia dos visitantes locais e dos
jovens autores do colectivo TribArte, que o concelho apoia em
diversas expressões culturais, e que serão alguns dos meus alunos
na formação em Outubro.
