33º Amadora BD – Fotos / Photos

A 33ª edição do festival Amadora BD terminou. Como divulguei anteriormente, voltei a participar no festival com apresentações e presença em sessões de autógrafos, cujas fotos aqui partilho.

O evento esteve muito movimentado e, como sempre, é um prazer conviver com os leitores e colegas do sector. Os meus parabéns à organização pelo sucesso do evento e agradeço pelo convite a integrar o programa!

The 33rd edition of the Amadora BD comic festival has wrapped-up. As I announced earlier, I returned to the festival with a couple of presentations and also attendence in signings, which photos I share here.

The event was very well attended and, as always, it’s a pleasure to be able to interact with readers and colleagues. My congratulations to the organization for the success of the event and thank you for the invitation to join the program!

FC Porto: BD 5 / Comics 5

A campanha publicitária FCP–BD: 2022/2023 continua em Outubro com uma nova arte sequencial, idealizada, desenhada e pós-produzida pelo autor Daniel Maia, desta feita alusiva ao grande jogo contra o SL Benfica.
Nesta sequência, para além da presença dos jogadores Toní Martinez, Fernando Andrade, Fábio Cardoso e Gonçalo Borges, o foco foi colocado no Estádio do Dragão, que foi vestido de azul e branco, antecipando a iniciativa realizada no local com a distribuição de 50 mil cartazes recortados no formato da camisola do clube, iniciativa essa que procurou galvanizar o apoio dos adeptos para o confronto no relvado.

The FCP–Comic: 2022/2023 advertising campaign continues in October with a new sequential art, idealized, drawn and post-produced by author Daniel Maia, this time alluding to the big game against SL Benfica.
In this sequence, in addition to the presence of the players Toní Martinez, Fernando Andrade, Fábio Cardoso and Gonçalo Borges, the focus was placed on Dragon Stadium, which was dressed in blue and white, anticipating the initiative carried out on the spot with the distribution of 50 thousand posters cut into the shape of the club's jersey, an initiative that sought to galvanize supporters for the match.

Nomeação nos PBDA ‘2022 | Nomination in Amadora Comics Awards ‘2022

É com prazer que anuncio a nomeação do álbum CoBrA: Operação Goa (Ala dos Livros), no qual assinei a cor e design da sobrecapa, da autoria de Daniel Maia (desenho) e Marco Calhorda (argumento), na categoria Melhor Obra de BD de Autor Português nos Prémios Banda Desenhada Amadora, promovido no 33º AmadoraBD. A Cerimónia de Entrega tem lugar no dia 23, Domingo, às 18h30, no núcleo central do festival.

Embora a minha participação neste projecto seja mínima, encontro-me envolvida nesta nomeação, tal como se deu em 2018, quando co-desenhei a revista O Infante Portugal em Universos Reunidos, que venceu a categoria Melhor Obra Curta no XVII Troféus Central Comics, após ter sido nomeada a solo na mesma categoria em 2022 e em 2014, pela minha estreia editorial.

It is with pleasure that I announce the nomination of graphic novel CoBrA: Operação Goa (Ala dos Livros), in which I signed the dust jacket’s the color and design, by Daniel Maia (drawing) and Marco Calhorda (script), in the category Best Portuguese Comic Book at the Amadora Comics Awards, promoted at the 33rd AmadoraBD festival. The Awarding Ceremony takes place on the 23rd, Sunday, at 6pm, in the central core of the festival.
Although my participation in this project is minimal, I am involved in this nomination, as happened in 2018, when I co-drew the comic The Infante Portugal in Gathered Universes, which won the Best Short Comic category at the XVII Central Comics Trophies, after being nominated in the same category in 2022 and in 2014, for my solo editorial debut.

Estudos de Aguarelas II | Watercolors studies II

Estes novos estudos em aguarelas são representativos de diferentes projectos, mas têm em comum ser trabalhos de vistas da natureza, umas mais urbanas do que outras.
Por vezes, é importante estudar em ponto pequeno as imagens que vou ter de realizar com maior detalhe e esmero, para desenvolver uma estratégia de abordagem cromática; por outras, como no caso das últimas aguarelas, basta fazer as colorações no local, instintivamente e à vista.

These new watercolor studies are representative of different projects, but they have in common being works based on nature sights, some of which are more urban than others.
Sometimes it’s important to study in small detail the images that I will have to create with greater detail and care, in order to develop a strategy for chromatic approach; other times, as in the case of the latest watercolors, it’s enough to do the coloring on the spot, instinctively and in-sight.
