3º Iniciação à Arte Sequencial – Conclusão / Conclusion

O mais recente curso de introdução à banda desenhada promovido pelo município do Montijo, que tive o prazer de novamente coordenar, encerrou há três semanas com a conclusão do módulo de atelier. Neste, os formandos foram desafiados a aplicar os conhecimentos adquiridos durante a formação e criar uma obra curta em BD, para posterior edição em antologia pelo edil.

No início do módulo, como acontecera no ano passado nos primeiros cursos, com o Penim Loureiro e o Paulo Monteiro, respectivamente, os meus formandos foram presenteados com a vinda de um autor profissional, convidado a falar do seu percurso no mercado e da sua metodologia criativa; neste 3º curso, decidimos variar a tendência de convite a artistas gráficos (que também são formadores) e trouxemos ao Iniciação à Arte Sequencial o renomado argumentista e editor independente (que igualmente é professor de BD) Pedro Moura.

Um dos principais críticos literários, documentarista, académicos e comissário de mostras em Portugal, e agora também co-proprietário da livraria Tinta nos Nervos, em Lisboa, o Pedro quis trazer um dos seus breves workshops sobre concepção de BDs curtas ao curso, para auxiliar os alunos na idealização dos seus contos. Foi uma aula fantástica e inspiradora, que também contou com alguns ex-formandos na audiência.

Concluído o curso, resta-me agradecer aos formandos pela dedicação e entusiasmo, e aguardar para estreia editorial destes novos autores na comunidade portuguesa de BD!

The most recent comics introduction course promoted by Montijo's municipality, which I had the pleasure of again coordinating, ended three weeks ago with the conclusion of the studio module. In this, the students were challenged to apply the knowledge acquired during the formation and create a short comic, to later publish in an anthology.

At the beginning of the module, as happened last year in the first courses, with Penim Loureiro and Paulo Monteiro, respectively, the trainees were presented with the coming of a professional author, invited to come talk about his career in the field and his creative methodology; in this 3rd course, we decided to vary the trend of invitation to graphic artists (who are also teachers) and brought to the 3rd Initiation to Sequential Art the renowned writer and independent publisher (who is also a comics teacher) Pedro Moura.
One of Portugal's main literary critics, academics, documentary filmmaker and commissary of comics exhibitions, and now also co-owner of Tinta nos Nervos bookstore, in Lisbon, Pedro wanted to bring one of his brief workshops geared towards the creation of short comics, to assist the students in the idealization of their tales. It was a fantastic and inspiring class, that some former alimni also attended.

Now that the course is finished, I can only thank the students for their dedication and enthusiasm, and I'm eager to see the editorial debut of these new authors in the Portuguese comics community!
