7º Barreiro IlustraBD

O salão Barreiro IlustraBD, no Auditório Municipal Augusto Cabrita, inaugurou este fim de semana e decorre até 31 de Julho. Os dias de inauguração concentram feira do livro, sessão de autógrafos, colóquios, oficinas e visitas guiadas às exposições. A entrada, como sempre, é grátis.

No Domingo, 12 de Abril, às 16h00, participo na apresentação de inVISÍVEIS, com Daniel Maia, Hugo Pinto e Osvaldo Medina, mais Paulo Pessoa, em representação da CerciOeiras. Apareçam!

The Barreiro IlustraBD comics sallon, at the Augusto Cabrita Municipal Auditorium, opened this weekend and will run until July 31. The opening days will feature a book fair, autograph sessions, talks, workshops and guided tours of the exhibitions. Admission, as always, is free.
On Sunday, April 12, at 4pm, I will be participating in the presentation of inVISÍVEIS, with Daniel Maia, Hugo Pinto and Osvaldo Medina, plus Paulo Pessoa, representing CerciOeiras. See you there!

Coimbra BD '2026

O 7º festival Coimbra BD vai decorrer nos dias 24 a 26 de Abril, novamente no Convento de São Francisco, em Coimbra, e este ano regresso ao evento como convidada oficial.
Além de marcar presença na área de artistas, vou realizar uma performance de Desenho de Gesto ao Vivo, com a colaboração dos visitantes - uma actividade inédita em festivais de BD - e vou realizar uma oficina de banda desenhada.

Susana Resende marca presença no Coimbra BD 2026 como artista gráfica, autora de banda desenhada e docente de desenho e arte sequencial.

Licenciada em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa e com formação em Desenho pela Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, desenvolveu um percurso consistente nas áreas da ilustração, BD e edição. Possui trabalhos desenvolvidos enquanto ilustradora, colorista, designer e balonista para várias editoras e entidades.

Conta com experiência em livros infantis, revistas e banda desenhada, com trabalhos publicados em editoras como Ala dos Livros, Apenas Livros, Devir Edições e Saída de Emergência. Foi distinguida nos Troféus Central Comics, onde venceu em 2018 após nomeação para Melhor Obra Curta na sua estreia no setor.

Ao longo do seu percurso, realizou exposições individuais em Portugal e no Reino Unido, e representou Portugal no festival de BD em Bruxelas e nesta edição estará em Coimbra para partilhar a sua experiência com uma apresentação muito especial sobre técnicas de criação de BD e coloração e ainda participar numa sessão de desenho ao vivo.

The 7th Coimbra BD comics festival will take place from April 24th to 26th, again at the Convento de São Francisco in Coimbra, and this year I return to the event as an official guest.

In addition to the artists' area, I will perform a Live Gesture Drawing session, with the collaboration of visitors - an unprecedented activity in comic book festivals - and I will conduct a sequential arts' workshop.

Susana Resende will be attending the Coimbra BD 2026 as a graphic artist, comic book author, and teacher of drawing and sequential art.

With a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon and training in Drawing from the National Society of Fine Arts, she has developed a consistent career in the areas of illustration, comics, and publishing. She has developed works as an illustrator, colorist, designer, and letterer for various publishers and entities.

She has experience in children's books, magazines and comics, with works released by publishers such as Ala dos Livros, Apenas Livros, Devir Edições and Saída de Emergência. She was distinguished at the Trophies Central Comics, where she won in 2018, after being nominated for Best Short Work with her debut comic.

Throughout her career, she held solo exhibitions in Portugal and in the United Kingdom, and represented Portugal at the Brussels Comics Festival. In this edition she will be in Coimbra to share her experience with a very special presentation on comic book creation and coloring techniques, and also participate in a live drawing session.

The Walking Dead vol.7 – Legendagem / Lettering

A colecção integral de The Walking Dead, publicada pela Devir Editora, entra na recta final com o Livro 7, que reúne os volumes originais 25 a 28. Criado por Robert Kirkman, com arte de Charlie Aadlard e Cliff Rathburn (tons), The Walking Dead Col.7 reúne os tomos No Turning Back (2016), Call to Arms (2016), The Whisperer War (2017) e A Certain Doom (2017).
O livro já está disponível através do website e será distribuído este mês de Abril.

Embora o desafio desta legendagem se prenda apenas pela capacidade de encaixar todo o texto palavroso nos balões, continua a ser um trabalho emocionante, e aguardo pelo livro final!

Neste TWD7, seguimos o imediato e violento rescaldo do massacre da fronteira de Alpha, o emotivo desespero dos sobreviventes e a escalada de guerra entre as comunidades aliadas de Rick e os Sussurradores. Dá-se uma mudança temática da sobrevivência para a criação de uma nova infraestutura de sociedade, que precisa de defender a sua paz e sossego, apesar dos protagonistas viverem momentos de dor e culpa.

The complete collection of The Walking Dead, published by Devir Editora, enters its final stretch with Book 7, which brings together the original volumes 25 to 28. Although the challenge of this lettering lies mostly in the ability to fit all the wordy text into the speech bubbles, it is still an exciting job, and I am looking forward to the final book!

In this TWD7, we follow the immediate and violent aftermath of Alpha’s border massacre, the emotional despair of the survivors, and the escalation of war between Rick's allied communities and the Whisperers. There is a thematic shift from survival to the creation of a new societal infrastructure that needs to defend its peace and quiet, despite the protagonists experiencing moments of pain and guilt.
