2026 começa com revisão das
actividades passadas: Em 2025,
o ano ficou marcado por trabalho de produção
de livros, uma actividade
que venho a realizar desde 2021 e na qual já me considero
profissional, no total tendo legendado e/ou paginado 25 livros (na
realidade 35, se considerar que alguns títulos são edições
integrais e compilam várias obras). Para além da colaboração
continuada com a Devir, estreei-me ainda nas editoras Ala dos Livros
e Levoir.
2025 começou com The
Walking Dead: Livro 5,
o primeiro volume que fiz na totalidade, e depois tive o privilégio
de estrear a Colecção Angouléme, com nova produção do clássico
Trilogia Nikopol
e Alack
Sinner: Bófia ou
Detective. O primeiro
trabalho para Ala dos Livros foi uma empreitada complexa, pois tive
de remasterizar as páginas do Pedro Nascimento e a seguir fazer tudo
o resto, em Tales
from
Nevermore,
que acabou por obter o Prémio Revelação do 36º AmadoraBD; e o
primeiro serviço para a Levoir revelou-se um esforço inglório, em
Os Lusíadas II,
pois acabou por não ser reproduzido como devia.
O 2º semestre trouxe The
Walking Dead: Livro 6
e Anäis
Nin: No
Mar das Mentiras,
pela Devir, mais Blacksad
Stories: Weekly,
pela Ala dos Livros, e Cadáver
Esquisito!,
pela Arga Warga. Por lançar, ficaram Blast:
Integral 1/2,
O
Deus Selvagem
e Kiki
de Montparnasse.
A
nível criativo, tive o prazer de ver o livro em que colaborei,
Abril,
Cravos Mil,
vencer mais um prémio de Melhor
Antologia,
no 22º Troféus Central Comics, e de regressar ao programa do FIBDB,
com a exposição ‘Cadáver Esquisito!’, bem como a formações,
com ‘Histórias aos Quadrinhos’, na Biblioteca Municipal São
Domingos de Rana.
Por
fim, para além da edição de Cadáver
Esquisito!,
em que Daniel Maia recuperou o webcomic concluído há dez anos,
retomei a parceria com ele ao colorir “As Raízes do Invisível”,
a BD curta escrita por Hugo Pinto que abriu a antologia inVISÍVEIS,
da CerciOeiras.
Enquanto durante todo o ano avancei
no livro ilustrado que tenho vindo a produzir, a recta final de 2025
trouxe-me um primeiro trabalho internacional, em que ilustro cenas
míticas da antiguidade. O ano concluiu com a participação no III
Beja Horrível,
promovido pela Bedeteca de Beja, mas há muito mais para destacar em
2026.
2026 begins with a review of past
activities: In 2025,
the year was marked by book designs, an activity I have been doing
since 2021 and at which I already consider myself a professional,
having lettered and/or designed 25 books in total (actually 35, if
you consider that some titles are editions that compiles several
works). In addition to the continued collaboration with Devir, I also
started working with publishers Ala dos Livros and Levoir.
2025 began with The
Walking Dead: Book 5,
the first volume I did completely, and afterward I had the privilege
of debuting the Angouléme Collection, with a new production of the
classic Nikopol
Trilogy
and Alack
Sinner: Cop or
Detective. The first
work for Ala dos Livros was a harrowing undertaking, as I had to
remaster Pedro Nascimento's pages and then do everything else, in
Tales from Nevermore,
which ended up winning the Revelation Award at the 36th AmadoraBD;
And the first work for Levoir proved to be a thankless endeavor, in
The Lusíadas II,
as it ended up not being reproduced as it should have been.
The 2nd semester brought The
Walking Dead: Book 6
and Anäis Nin: In the
Sea of Lies, by
Devir, plus Blacksad
Stories: Weekly, by
Ala dos Livros, and Weird
Corpse!, by Arga
Warga. Yet to be released are Blast:
Integral 1/2, The
Savage God and Kiki
de Montparnasse.
On a creative level, I had the
pleasure of seeing the book I collaborated on, April,
Carnation Showers,
win another Best Anthology award at the 22nd Central Comics Trophies,
and returning to the FIBDB program with the exhibition ‘Weird
Corpse!’, as well as training with ‘Comics Strips’ at the São
Domingos de Rana Municipal Library.
Finally, in addition to the
release of Weird
Corpse!, in which
Daniel Maia revived the webcomic completed ten years ago, I resumed
my partnership with him by coloring “Roots of the Invisible,” a
short comic written by Hugo Pinto that opened the anthology
inVISÍVEIS,
released by CerciOeiras.
While throughout the year I
advanced on the illustrated book I've been producing, the final
stretch of 2025 brought me my first international project, in which I
illustrate mythical scenes of antiquity. And the year concluded with
a participation in the III
Beja Horrível,
promoted by the Beja Comics Library, but there is much more to come
in 2026.
