Há
três semanas, no Comic Con Portugal, para além de lançar o novo baralho de cartas ilustrado Baralhas de
Cães, também estreei um trio de impressões de alta-qualidade
figurando 3
Palhaços; nomeadamente, representando Harley
Quinn, Joker e Dumbo.
Embora não seja a primeira vez que desenhei desta forma figuras da
cultura pop, dos comics ou cinema, foi a primeira ocasião em que o fiz
exclusivamente para um evento, e foi formidável ter esgotado dois
lotes de impressões destes três prints no Artists Alley!
Os
trabalhos originais foram igualmente entusiasmantes de produzir,
tendo sido desenhados em um dia cada qual, coloridos com lápis
aguareláveis. Os fundos foram criados depois, em pranchas à parte, através duma técnica de dripping, e fundidas às ilustrações digitalmente.
Three
weeks ago, at Comic Con Portugal, in addition to releasing my new illustrated deck of cards Baralhas de
Cães, I also presented a trio of high-quality prints featuring 3
Clowns;
more specifically, representing Harley
Quinn, Joker and Dumbo.
Although this is not the first time that I drew figures from pop
culture as these, from comics or movies, it was the first time that I
did it exclusively for an event, and it was wonderful to see two batches of these three prints soldout at the Artists Alley!
The
original works were equally exciting to produce and were drawn in one
day each, colored with watercolor crayons. The backgrounds were
created later, in separated artboards, through a dripping technique, and digitally mixed with the illustrations.
